IELTS Cue Card
The speaking test is conducted on a separate day from the rest of the section. It is a face-to-face interview between the candidate and an examiner. It contains three sections:
# Section 1: Introduction and Interview: In this part, candidates have to introduce themselves in front of the examiner. And also answer basic questions on their daily life.
# Section 2: Cue Card: In Cue Card candidates have to speak on a random topic given in a cue card.
# Section 3: Discussion: Candidates will have a discussion on a similar topic given on the cue card.
The cue card section includes a test card with a particular topic. The candidates will be given one minute to speak about this topic. What is the Name of the Plant?
Datura stramonium is one of the most poisonous plants found in India; it is found easily in every part of India. It is also known as Devil’s Snare and Devil’s trumpet owing to its deadly poison.
Where is it Found?
Datura is a native plant to Mexico but it is commonly found in every part of India as wasteland weeds. This deadly plant is still used in India for medicinal purposes. According to Ayurveda, the Indian medicinal science of India, this plant falls under Upavisha Varga. It dictates that if this plant is consumed in small doses and purified through the Shodhana process then it is safe to consume and can impart great benefits to the health.
Benefits and Side Effects
This herb is often mentioned in ancient ayurvedic scriptures such as Charaksamhita and Raj Nighantu. Where is it Found?
It is a species native to India and other parts of Southern East Asia. It is easily found in different parts of India but most commonly in Kerala, Tamilnadu, Bengal and many more.
Cerbera odollam is a highly toxic plant. In past, the kernel of this tree was used to poison people and also to suicide. Henceforth it gots its name Suicide tree.
Benefits and Side Effects
Despite its toxicity, its leaves and barks are used to treat ringworms, its oil is used to kill head lice, and the flower is used to treat hemorrhoids. The flowers are also used to manufacture bioinsecticide and in deodorants. The wood is also used to make charcoal and for furniture.
But if this is consumed without consultation or in excess quantity it can be deadly. The side effects of these plants are burning sensation in the mouth, violent vomiting causing irregular respiration, common irregular heartbeat, coma, and death.

It is also used to treat diabetes, toothache, and tooth decay. There are several products found in the market such as Kantakari powder, juice, and oil.
