The University of Manitoba is the largest university in Manitoba and the 17th largest in Canada. The main campus of the university is located in the Fort Garry neighbourhood of southern Winnipeg. Students Groups and Representation
The students at the university are units of the University of Manitoba Students’ Union (UMSU). UMSU represents students at the Board of Senate and Governors and, as well as providing courses and aid to students. The University of Manitoba Graduate Students’ Association (UMGSA) furthermore represents over 3,000 graduate pupils at the University of Manitoba. The UMGSA is guided by its goals, governing documents and vision all of which focus on facilitating and furnishing graduate students, developing and encouraging involvement, support to students and advocacy as well as a healthy learning environment in the graduate student community.
The National Panhellenic Conference sororities on campus are Alpha Gamma Delta, Alpha Phi and Alpha Delta Pi. Fraternities on campus include Delta Kappa Epsilon, Phi Delta Theta and Delta Upsilon. Sorority Recruitment and Fraternity Rush occur during the early weeks of college in September.
