What is the TRF Number in IELTS?

TRF, also known as the Test Report Form, is a report that is provided to every other candidate who appears in the IELTS examination. So, any candidate who has taken the IELTS examination is given a TRF which helps in detailing the candidate’s scores for the examinations that they have taken. So, in order to check that the candidate is presenting a genuine TRF and that the candidate and the TRF match, the British Council has developed an Online Verification Service.

What is Additional TRF in IELTS?

Additional TRF is an additional Test Report Form that one has to send to the universities and educational institutions unless one is applying to the Citizenship and Immigration Canada {CIC} or United Kingdom Visas and Immigration {UKVI} – in all these cases, two or more TRFs will be released only if proof of application to CIC and UKVI.

Additional TRF is valid for a period of a minimum of two years and after this deadline has passed, one cannot get another TRF for themselves and after that, all they need to do is appear for the examination again because the test authorities can not issue another TRF after this period.

One can request a TRF in case they have lost or damaged their previous TRF because every candidate has the right to request one more TRF.

How to Find IELTS TRF Number?

After taking the IELTS Examination, one receives a copy of their test report form, i.e, the TRF. This copy can only be replaced in case this is lost or damaged. And in that case, in order to get a copy of your TRF, one has to contact the centre from which they took their IELTS examination test.

To inform them, one has to put this request of getting their IELTS TRF number in writing to them and along with that, provide a copy of the ID document that they used on the test day.

Generally, the TRF number is printed 13 days after the test day and one can collect their TRF at the IDP IELTS offices when their results are released. All it requires for one is to bring the identity form that they used while registering for the test in order to pick up their TRF.
