Modes of GRE
Students can take online or offline GRE based on their convenience.
Paper-based Exam
The paper-based exam consists of three sections: analytical writing, verbal reasoning, and quantitative reasoning.
The total number of questions is 102 and the time allotted is 3 hours 30 minutes.
Computer-based Exam
The computer-based exam also consists of three sections as paper-based exams. But it has extra two questions in the logic and research section.
The total number of questions is 82 and the time allotted is 3 hours and 45 minutes.
GRE Exam Dates 2021 in India
GRE General Tests are offered year-round in most countries. Only China, Korea and Hong Kong are exceptions. There GRE is conducted only thrice a year: April, September and October.
Candidates can apply for GRE anytime except on weekends and designated holidays, but it is ideal to register as soon as possible.

A candidate can apply for GRE online or offline.

#1 Step one includes making an account on the ETS website.
#2 Make sure to fill in all the information as per your passport details, read all the policies and terms of ETS carefully.
#3 Now check the availability of seats at your preferred centre and now log into your ETS account using credentials and see credentials.
#4 After filling in all your information, pay the application fees with a credit or debit card.
#5 After you have filled the form successfully a confirmation email will be sent to your email account.

In India, exam fees are $213. But in the rest of the world, it is $205.

When should You Take the GRE Test?
While deciding on when to take the test you should consider the following things:
#1 University you are aiming for:
Suppose you are aiming for a university that begins its application process by March. You should have your GRE test before March.
#2 Your preparation:
To get admitted into top universities you need to get a good score on your GRE exam. You should start your preparation three to four months before your exams.
#3 Retake GRE:
You have to accept or reject your scores after the results come. If you accept your score it will be sent to the selected universities.
Otherwise, you can retake the GRE test with a gap of 21 days.
