When did It Happen?
I remember this incident from two years back when my parents made me proud.
Who is this Person?
Well, I am blessed with kind-hearted parents who love to do charity. They are often engaged in social work and today I would like to narrate an incident of one such event.
What did the Person Do?
Two years back, my parents went to an orphanage to donate some toys, books, and other stationery. As usual, they went to the same Asha orphanage. It is a special orphanage for special kids. Every weekend we all went over there to play and spend some time with them.
That day we were busy with our exams, therefore, they went alone over there. They usually spend 3-4 hours over there and then come back. But that day it was 7 pm and still, they didn’t return. We were really scared and tried calling them. While their call was coming engaged, our heartbeat was beating fast.
I tried calling an orphanage but according to them, they had already left 4 hours ago. We couldn’t wait anymore and decided to go over there. When we were on our way we heard some people were standing and talking about something like an accident. I was really scared and hesitantly went over there and inquired about the matter.
I got to know that a kid was playing on the road and got hit by a car. Luckily he wasn’t badly injured but he was rushed to the hospital. They also told us that while everyone was watching him two people came forward and took them in their car. We got the clue that it would be our parents and therefore we rushed to the city hospital.
There I saw my father sign some documents over the counter. I rushed to him and hugged him tightly. I was scared to death and was relieved to see him over there standing. Then we inquired about him and our guest was correct. They were the ones who brought that child to the hospital and got him treated. We went to the room and there I saw my mother consoling a woman which I guessed was the kid’s mother.
Explain Why You Felt Proud of Him/ Her

When did It Happen?
Today I would like to speak about the incident when I was in class 8 and my sister was in class 11.
Who is this Person?
I remember it clearly, till today how proud I felt when my sister came last in a race but still won the heart of everyone.
What did the Person Do?
It was the year 2012 when the annual sports festival was organized in our school. Everyone was busy with their parts and my sister was one of them. She is quite an athletic person and the best runner in the whole school.
She used to get up early those days and used to go to practice in the nearby ground. I remember my parents also used to wake up early with her. My mother used to make breakfast for her and my father used to accompany her. Then she used to practice for hours over there.
Moreover, she used to follow a strict diet and work out twice a day. That time I could not understand why she was working out so much till the day came. She participated in the 2000m race.
Every participant came on the track and as the coach whistled everyone started running. It was like a tornado had come in the track as everything was dusty and round was shaking hard. I could see my sister leading and everyone was cheering for her.
Suddenly one player fell on the ground hard. She fell so hard that her knee broke and started bleeding heavily. But no one was interested in it, rather they were busy cheering their favorite one.
Suddenly my sister stopped and turned back. We were shocked as to why she was running in the opposite direction. My sister ran and stopped to help her friend. She bent down and took out her handkerchief to tie down her wound. Then she helped her to come towards the infirmary.
Explain Why You Felt Proud of Him/ Her
Then the race was finished and another girl came first. But instead, everyone was looking at my sister. Even the judges were applauding her. I was proud at that moment to see my sister in her 30 days of effort and hard work to help her friend. That day she didn’t come first in the race but surely won the hearts of many.
Sample Answer Three: Describe a Time When You Felt Proud of a Family Member
Today I would like to speak about an incident of three years back. First of all, thank you for this opportunity.
When did It Happen?
It was an incident three years back when I was proud of my sister.
Who is this Person?
My sister is quite a studious girl and loves to study. She always had scored good grades in her school but did amazing in her 12th exam.
What did the Person Do?
In India, scores of 10 and 12th class matters a lot. The students have to face lots of peer pressure not only from their parents but also from their teachers, neighbors, relatives, and friends. When my sister went to 12th class everyone made it clear that she had to outperform.
She was calm but somehow was stressed with such peer pressure. When only three months were left for her exam she stopped stepping out of the house and made a rigid timetable. Her timetable was study-oriented but also had time for recreational activities.
But what was surprising was that my only uncle’s wedding was planned two days before her exams. Yup! That was quite depressing as she was close to him and now she could not participate in his wedding. It would be more than enough if you could spare some time and visit the function even.
We all were scared but my sister looked calm. She smiled and said that she would just think about her exam first and then about the wedding. And yes that’s what she did. Days passed and her preparation went on.
She didn’t participate in any functions or arrangements. On the day of the wedding, she came to the party wearing comfy clothes. Then she congratulated our uncle and our aunt and then went back home. I was shocked as to how she can be so calm and happy when she has to study while others are enjoying themselves.
Explain Why You Felt Proud of Him/ Her
But as it is said hard work pays off, she secured 96 percent in her 12th. Even the newspaper published her name and everyone came to congratulate her. She was even given an award by the district magistrate. I was shocked and happy but extremely proud of her. She is my role model and I hope I can become like her.
