In terms of qualifications, I think it’s less important than having a portfolio of examples of your work with the help of which you can show that you are a really good writer. So, for that, all you need is a good or an extremely great level of English with the help of which you could write some amazing articles that are extremely creative and helps other individuals to know the whereabouts of all the places that they want to visit.
What Would the Job Involve?
This job would involve an individual to visit as many places as they could in as little time as possible so that they could write everything about that place from the very basic to the most important thing. One also needs to be able to write fluently and in different styles for different publications. Travel writers must be very flexible, as you might need to go to difficult or uncomfortable places and travel at short notice.
What Could be the Most Difficult Thing About This Job?
The most difficult part of this job is that it is not very well-paid. Hence, because of this reason, oftentimes the travel writers need to have another job as well because one could not make a living out of this type of work. Also, it’s quite an unsettling way of life, thus it would be hard to maintain friends and pursue a new hobby if you are constantly moving out.
