For the cue card question, one is provided with a topic that usually contains one main question and along with that, there are 3 or 4 more questions guiding the individual on how to answer that one particular question asked in the beginning. Changing the Topic in IELTS Speaking
No, it is not possible for an individual to ask the examiner to change the topic for the cue card while they have appeared for the speaking part of the examination.
One has to prepare himself/herself for all the possible questions that the examiner could ask them, while in the test. These could be some really easy, interesting, yet common topics asked by the examiner. So, one needs to include them all while they are preparing for the test paper.
For example – If the examiner asks you, “Do you like art?” and your possible answer is – “No, I do not like art.”
This doesn’t mean that the examiner is going to change his question according to your preference, he/she will keep asking you questions on the same topic and your only duty at that point in time is to answer all the questions that you have been asked.
There could be various other common topics upon which the examiner could ask you such questions, and for that, you need to prepare yourself well for the examination.
