In order to get a PR (Permanent Residency) Visa, one must get a CRS score or Express Entry score of 67 points in their application under the Federal Skilled Worker class. This article will provide you with the necessary tips for Canada immigration.

Tips for Canada Immigration

Canadian immigration is a merit-based system, as it depends on your CRS (Comprehensive System Ranking). The higher your CRS score, the better your immigration chances become. There are several ways of increasing your CRS score, here are some tips for Canada immigration:

    1. Create your Express Entry Profile:

Canadian government requires Express Entry profiles of immigration candidates to assess the eligibility for immigration. It is one of the necessary steps to be taken by an applicant seeking Canadian immigration.

    2. Keep Improving Your IELTS Band:

Your International English Language Testing System (IELTS) test proves your proficiency in the English language. One of the many advantages of your Express Entry profile will be that you can keep appearing for IELTS to improve your score as much as you want to. It is because once you get an IELTS score for Canada, you can score maximum points of 160 for your Express Entry profile. It is also to remember that since Canada is a bilingual country, there is another test other than IELTS that is TEF for those who can speak the French language.

    3. Secure a Provincial Nomination:

If you have managed to secure a provincial nomination or the PN, you can get a score of 600 CRS, and will definitely be selected for the next Express Entry draw, for which the minimum cut-off point is around 450. However it is not an easy job to secure a PN, you must always stay aware of the varying requirements of all the 13 Canadian provinces and the sub-categories of the PNPs (Provincial Nomination Programs).

    4. Try for a Job:

Doing a Canadian job will not only help you score up to 200 CRS points, it will also become an advantage for most of the PNPs. A job in Canada helps in increasing your track in an immigration application, hence you should look for a job as soon as you land in Canada.

    5. Complete Your Education:

If you get a Canadian University degree or any other tertiary qualification, that is valid for three years in Canada, you become eligible for up to 120 CRS points. And if you do another one year program in the country, then you get an extra score of 8 points. Through a study visa, you can complete your education in Canada, and then become eligible for the CRS points.

    6. Learn Spousal Points Work:

Immigration with your spouse or a common-law partner can have a major influence on your immigration application. You can earn additional CRS points if your spouse has a high IELTS band for Canada or other qualifications that can boost your CRS point. However, adding him or her in your application can also have negative effects as a low CRS human capital score. This is because your spouse is added as a second applicant in your profile, and their low CRS human capital score makes your CRS points reserved for them, which ultimately results in your low CRS points.

    7. Impacts of having a Sibling:

Many people are not aware of the fact that if you have a sibling with Candian citizenship, then you get straight 15 CRS points. In addition to this, it is not necessary that you should be having a blood relation, they can also be your adopted sibling, or a brother or sister-in-law. So, mentioning an acquaintance like them in your application can be a lot advantageous.
