What Type of Trouble It Was?

Last December, I had to appear in the semester examinations of my college and it was difficult for me to cross the barriers as the questions were extremely hard for me to answer. It was a literature examination and I had to answer some of the extremely critical questions about the history of English literature.

All the questions in the examination were about the writing style, plots, relation with the history of the modern days, and many more. I had studied so much for this exam and was extremely well-read and prepared for all the types of questions that could be asked in the examination. To my surprise, almost all the questions were out of the syllabus and it caused great trouble to all the students, especially me.

I still remember that I was not well before the examination but tried my best to cover each and everything that was possible for me to do. I failed to communicate with my friends or classmates because of which I was completely unaware of the texts and suggestions for the exam. The course was titled – English Literature-Contemporary & Old Texts. The course material was there with me but I was not sure of how to study and what all things do I had to cover back then. So, it was difficult for me to decide what to do or how to do it, and I was in great trouble in the exam hall.

How did You Handle It?

I tried my best to answer all the questions that were there in the exam paper. I tried to relate the events together and there it was when I was able to answer most of the questions. I was so scared after seeing the paper but when I tried my best to take out the possible answers to all the questions after relating all the events – I was able to do it and I did that at that time and answered at least 42 questions out of 50.

After the examination was over, I went out and cross-checked everything with my teachers and classmates and that’s when I realized that 40 out of those 42 were absolutely correct. I was extremely happy. Though couldn’t manage to get an A grade that time but I was satisfied with the B that I got.

What Type of Trouble It Was?

It was Friday that day and I was supposed to attend office before 9:00 A.M. for an extremely important meeting but I was late. It was not my fault but the unwanted traffic congestion that made me late.

What happened that day was that I had an extremely important meeting in my office and as a manager, I had to be there to talk to that party which was coming in our office with such a big contract. I woke up at 6 A.M. and it usually takes me an hour to reach my workplace every day. So, by 7:45, I was out of my house. But the traffic that day – Oh My God! It was horrific. It took me more than 2 hours to reach my workplace that day.

And as I had expected, the meeting was over and the party had gone out without signing the contract with us.

I worked as the manager for a local medical company dealing with importing some foreign medicines into India. On that day, an important meeting was slated to be held where some big shots were about to appear with their proposals to work with us jointly in the market.

It was my duty to prepare a presentation for our clients but due to the great traffic of Delhi, I could not reach the venue in time and the party went without signing the contract with us.

It all happened because there was an accident between the two buses and because of that the entire road was blocked and it took about two hours to clear the obstacles and make the road suitable for vehicular movement.

How Did You Handle It?

The parties who came to attend the meeting left the venue before I reached the office and everyone was unhappy with me and they blamed me for the failure of such a big contract. So, I decided to go to the parties’ office and described to them the reason for my being late and presented a presentation to them. They really liked my presentation and were so happy that they agreed to give us their contract and the next ten contracts as well.

Conclusion
