IELTS Exam Sample Answer One: Describe an Interesting Animal Dog

I like all sorts of animals, but the affection and cuteness of a dog really fascinate me. A dog is a household animal that can be found in nearly all my country’s houses and streets. The greatest thing about dogs is that they still heap attention on their parents, aside from being a wonderful keeper. An individual owning a dog gets affection and attention from the dog and the dog makes sure that no one hurts his or her owner.

Describe an Interesting Animal Dog Brief Description

While most people prefer dogs, as there are various types of dogs such as pugs, a golden retriever, bulldog, and German shepherd, all have different options. Interestingly, the traits of dogs depend on their type. A bulldog is more aggressive than a pug, for example, and is more likely to attack you. Much more, the criteria for food differ with race. A smaller race will, in effect, need more resources and food than a larger or medium-sized race.

Interesting Facts

  • A dog is as wise as a 2-year-old baby
  • Dogs and cats both water slurp the same way
  • When you’re gone, your dog has a sense of time and loves you.
  • In the dark, the dog’s whiskers make him ‘see’
  • In your paw, dogs just have sweat glands
  • The mouth of a puppy, on average, exerts 320 pounds of pressure
  • As mentally mature as a 15-year-old human, the one-year-old pup is
  • The sense of scent of your dog is 1,000 to 10 million times better than yours.

Cue Card Topic Sample Answer Two- Describe an Interesting Animal

The World is made of many animals and distinct species. Humans on this planet are at the top of the food chain and share the planet with all living species. Animals form a significant part of our environment, allowing them to protect biodiversity and maintain the ecosystem’s equilibrium. There are numerous magnificent animals that roam our territories, but snow leopards are the one that most fascinates me.

Where can You find Them?

Snow leopards are lonely species, living in the entire range of the Himalayas and central Asia. These beasts are a thing of beauty and they are easily differentiated from an African or Asian leopard by their distinctive hair and colour. Their coat is white and grey in colour and allows them to camouflage in the surrounding climate. In chilling Himalayan air, their thick coat lets them keep healthy. They are very shy animals, and maybe that is why their behaviour and habitat are much less understood. Their diet consists mainly of antelopes and Himalayan goats that in the mountainous terrain are present in abundance.

Interesting Fact

Sadly, the human-animal rivalry has already caught up with these majestic species and the World Wildlife Federation today deems them critically endangered. In the wild and extreme steps are being taken to preserve their numbers, there are fewer than 5000 snow leopards out there. There is a well-known documentary recently produced by the BBC, entitled Blue Planet. The crew has been recording and collecting some great footage of the magnificent animals for almost 4 years. They were able to catch the video of a snow leopard making a kill, for the first time in history. I feel sorry that we can not do anything as humans to protect these species and are adamant about the loss of their habitat.

Conclusion

You are required to write down your thoughts and points during the one minute that is given to you in the IELTS speaking test to practise, and then continue speaking. In order to express and place your thoughts in good order and do not screw up the total, you do not have time to write the whole speech down. Practice a number of sample cue card topics before giving the main IELTS exam.
