Types of Questions You Get in The IELTS Listening Test
Here are the types of questions you get in the IELTS listening test:
Multiple Choice
You must pick the correct answer from a list of options in multiple-choice questions (usually 3 words or phrases). Because the responses will often appear to be identical in meaning, you will need to pay close attention. Don’t choose the first response you hear. The answers to questions 26 through 30 in this sample exam are either choice A, B, or C.
Sentence Completion
This is a fill-in-the-blanks question. To finish the sentences, you must listen to the tape and fill in the missing words. It’s possible that you’ll need to finish the phrases or fill in some gaps.
Take particular notice of the number of words you are permitted to write and do not exceed this limit; otherwise, your response will be marked “incorrect,” even if the information you provide is correct.
You must complete 4 sentences in this sample topic using no more than 2 words for each response.
Form Completion
Form completion questions are most common in Section 1, which is a two-person dialogue, although they can also be found in other sections. An application or an order form is the most popular type.
It’s usually simple to anticipate what information you’ll need to pay attention to. For example, the responses to this sample inquiry will be a surname, a street name, a postcode, the kind of item ordered, and the number of things ordered.
Note Completion
This sort of question can be phrased in a variety of ways. It will be some form of a gap-filling task in which you must fill in the missing words. This might be anything as simple as missing words in a lecture’s notes.
Keep track of the number of words or numbers you’re permitted to write in the response.

Table Completion
You’ll also be asked to fill in blanks in table completion questions. The table will be made up of information-filled columns and rows.
