PTE or the Pearson Test of English conducted by the Pearson PLC Group is a computer-based test conducted to assess one’s English language ability. Candidates from non-native English-speaking countries who aspire to move to English-speaking countries for higher studies or work take this test.

Although many similar tests are conducted, Pearson Language Test continues to be one of the most famous and widely accepted. Over 6,000 universities worldwide accept the PTE test score during the admission process to their universities.

The test is divided into four sections- Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening. The purpose of the test is to assess whether a candidate can communicate with people daily in an English-speaking country. This is the most convenient choice for those who wish to move, study, or settle down in the United Kingdom. This test also consists of the same four sections- Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening. Though both the PTE Academic test and the PTE Academic UKVI do not differ in exam patterns, you can observe minor changes in the registration processes.

The PTE test is conducted throughout the year in India. While the PTE Academic test is conducted often and multiple times every month, the PTE General test is usually scheduled to be conducted in February, May, June, November, and December.

Though the exam is conducted around the year, experts suggest that it is good for applicants to take the test at least two months before the dates of applying to the target universities. This gives ample time to think about the score, retake the test if required, and create a potential list of universities or institutions to apply to.
