Rigid Score System

You’ll answer 40 questions during the Reading Exam like the IELTS reading score chart. A number of query forms, e.g. multiple-choice questions, true/ false/ not given type questions, matching the following type questions, and completion of sentences, are used. Overall IELTS Band Calculator and the IELTS Score Card

The average of the four component scores is the Overall Band Score, rounded to the nearest whole or half. Using the IELTS scorecard you can see that the component scores are evenly weighted. To score well you must have fared well in all the aspects of the test.

In the IELTS band calculator, the overall band score is rounded up to the next half of the average of the four components ends at .25, and if it ends at .75, the Overall is rounded up to the next full band. The total is rounded down if the average terminates with a fraction below .25 or .75.
