IELTS Cue Card: Describe a Time When You Felt Bored Sample 1
Since I am an outgoing person, there have been very few occasions when I have been lonely. After all, I distinctly recall a time when I was bored at my cousin’s house. It happened during last summer’s vacation. I had a few weeks off from college. So I decided to pay a visit to my nephew, who had just returned from his navy school. His name is Mohit. He had aspired to join the Indian army since he was a teenager. I was really excited to see him because we hadn’t seen each other in 3 years.

So I went to his house and we began talking about our youth, and we were nostalgic as we remembered our memories. Unexpectedly, he received a call from his former classmates, telling him that they were organising a get-together. He insisted on accompanying me to the picnic. I was hesitant at first, but he convinced me, and we both dressed up and went to the dance.
As soon as we arrived, a group of his mates arrived, and he introduced me to them all. After a while, though, they took my cousin to another table with several other colleagues. I didn’t know anybody at the game, so I was bored and feeling left out.I kept myself entertained by using my tablet and eating candy, but even that became tedious after a while.

After about 2 hours, my brother and his friends returned, and I finally figured it would be enjoyable now, but they began to chat about their buddy circle and what others were doing in their lives. Since I was unable to engage in the debate, I felt out of place and restless. I felt horrible for being left out, but then I remembered that my brother had seen his friends after a long period of time, and they had stuff to chat about and catch up with.
So I just appeared to be having fun. The party ended an hour later, and my cousin and I returned home. Even though I was bored, seeing him smiling made me happy as well. As a result, I opted not to tell him about it. So this was the moment that I was surrounded by people and became bored.

When I was in junior high, there were some lessons that I considered tedious. One class in specific, class 10 history, was a complete slog. Time appeared to stand still when I was there, and there were many explanations for this. One thing I didn’t like about the class was the environment. I was allocated to sit in the back corner of the room, and due to the layout of the school, I only had one person next to me with whom I could speak. However, since this man, Jim, was very outgoing and unexciting, it was more difficult than usual to strike up an interesting discussion with him.

Some occasions in that class, I remember not saying a single thing, which was unusual compared to my other classes. Another factor that contributed to the monotony of the case was the boring instructor, Mr. Deeb. From what I recall, the subject’s material seemed to be quite fascinating, but the manner in which he approached it was not. This instructor spoke so softly and monotonously that I sometimes found myself daydreaming rather than focusing. I don’t suppose I was alone in my loneliness. The students were disassociated on a whole, and Mr. Bean did not make any in class changes, instead sticking to his old predictable template. It’s a pity that this happens.

Learning about culture can be really fascinating, but I lost enthusiasm to learn it that year, which made it much more difficult. The instructor wanted us to memorise a large number of historical dates. I wanted to force myself to do better on exams, but I felt like training was useless at times. Luckily, I now consider reading and viewing historical films to be very interesting. But when I was in grade 10, I hated walking into the class because it was the most dull spot on the planet.
