Analysis Of The IELTS Speaking Question: A Person Who Loves To Grow Plants
When you first read this question, what comes to your mind? It is a simple cue card question that is asking you to provide the description of an individual who loves to grow plants. It could be anyone who you know and is into plants.
Think of who you would love to speak about and list down the qualities of this person. Think of why he/ she loves growing plants and how it impacts others. These cues will assist you in delivering a two-minute speech in front of the examiner.

Attempt
The fascination with plants of all kinds is rare. Most of us remain surrounded with plants and are also aware that plants are the very source of our existence. However, we do not take much interest in getting to know about them or nurturing them. I greatly admire someone who loves to grow plants and would like to speak about one such individual today.
I wish to talk about my sister who loves to grow plants of all kinds. She has dotted our entire house with different plants and has managed to beautify even the corners of the main courtyard. Her name happens to be Jigina and she is an extremely passionate individual.
Ever since I was little, I would notice Jigina took a keen interest in flora. She would go through as many books as she could get her hands on and would study their features. Since our father is a Botanist, she would often ask him questions related to plants and how one took care of them.
Jigina grew up to study Botany just like my father and would often bring home different plants in order to study them in depth. She would handle the various parts with tenderness and care so that they wouldn’t get detached from the main plant. She also went on to author two thesis based on the plant kingdom.
Her work received acclaim from some of the best international colleges who wanted her to relocate there in order to teach the subject. It was a proud moment for our entire family and I truly felt that she deserved such an accolade.
Jigina did not take up the offer as she wanted to continue her research on plants. She has also instilled in us the importance of organic farming. We have started growing some vegetables and fruits in our garden and keep learning about how to take care of them under her guidance.
Jigina is someone who is very dedicated towards plants and her knowledge regarding them is very sound. She continues to inspire many others who would like to know more about flora.
