आईईएलटीएस Speaking Practice Test

Today, we’ll be talking mostly about the IELTS speaking test that is one part of the IELTS examination and every individual appearing for the examination has to go through it.

But before that, there is one question which comes to the mind of every individual appearing for the test and that is – “How many minutes is the IELTS speaking test?” The simple answer to this question is – The IELTS speaking test is 11 to 14 minutes long and has three parts in it.

तीन Parts of the Speaking Test

#1. In Part One of this test, an individual has to answer questions about themselves, their family, their work, as well as their interest. So, it is basically about the general questions that an individual has to answer about himself, his family, and what interests him.

#2. In Part Two of this examination, one is asked to speak on a particular topic. So, an individual will be presented with a topic and he/ she will be given a task card that includes the topic, and the points that they can cover in their test. For this part of the test, the candidate is provided with a time of one minute to prepare for their answer to speak effortlessly, afterward.

#3. The Third Part is more or less like a discussion on the topic where the examiner will ask certain questions related to the topic assigned to you and you have to answer that.

The IELTS speaking part two is about 3-4 minutes long where the candidate is provided with a minute to just prepare their answer for the topic that they have been presented with and afterward, speak on the desired topic.

Can I Use Slang in IELTS Speaking Exam?

Any individual who is appearing for the IELTS examination needs to know one thing and that is while they are appearing for this test, all they are required to do is present a normal conversation with the examiner. This conversation needs to be exactly like two people having a conversation while they are sitting together and having a cup of coffee together.

But it should not be an overly informal language.

One is not allowed to use slang or any other language that is too informal. So, the answer to this question is – No, you can’t use slang in the IELTS speaking exam.

For the IELTS speaking section, a candidate is given a total of a minute to prepare themselves for the question that they are asked by the examiner. They are presented with a specific topic and that topic is called a cue.

The one minute that any candidate is given to prepare for their part of the answer is extremely essential and one should learn to use this one minute effectively. For this, you can:

#a. Write 2-3 keywords against the cue card topics to build up their point of the argument.

#b. Practice this note-making even when they are at home to not get confused while they are giving the actual examination.

Before appearing for the examination, try and practice speaking for at least 2-3 minutes daily at your home taking different topics into consideration. Practice speaking out loud on a topic while keeping your stopwatch at your side to know exactly about the time and in this way, you can prepare yourself for this test.
