Sample Introduction of IELTS Speaking Cue Card Topic

I love to travel a lot, and I generally travel with my friends. We often go on a trip, which is a sudden plan and we end up in a city or state that we never planned to. Travelling is like a stress buster for me and I feel free when I travel.

I don’t have any restrictions from my parent’s side to travel, and they support me with every decision. Travelling is fun with family also, as my parents are really cool and we all have fun whenever we go on a trip. And I prefer not to go to the same place after I have visited the place two times. So, I avoid making plans for the same place again and again.

There is one place that I like a lot but I will not prefer to live there because of a few reasons. So this place is Shimla. I don’t like winters. There are many reasons to justify my hatred for this weather.

Justify Your Cue Card Answer in the IELTS Speaking Test

The first is that I am prone to cold so as soon as winter arrives, I fall sick and I am not able to save myself. The second reason is that all the activities are slow and due to the cold surrounding I procrastinate very much. Shimla is a hilly area, and it is cold there all the time. But I have visited the place many a time with my family and friends.

Why You like the Place but Why You don’t Want to Live There?

When I visited the palace I had not lived there for more than 4 days. I can travel to Shimla because I know that my visit there is only for a few days and I know that we will be heading back to our home soon. But I can’t stand the winter in Shimla for more than 4 days, this is the reason why I don’t see it as a place where I can live.

If any of my friends or family members would tell me that we are going to live forever there, then I would just avoid going and will hide in a place where nobody would catch me. When I visit that place I don’t have the energy and motivation to travel much because my body is struggling to fight the winters, in such a scenario where I am struggling physically and mentally I don’t see that I can live there for a long period.

How You Felt? What is Your Family’s or Friend’s View about It?

Frankly speaking, I don’t feel happy when I visit cold places like Shimla. All the time I am just shivering even after wearing so many layers of cloth. I feel laziness and I want something hot to drink and eat after every 2 mins, so I don’t think living in Shimla would be good for my health whether physical or mental neither for my career. Because of the cold surrounding, I start procrastinating.

My family and my friends know about my feelings towards Shimla, So they don’t force me to go with them all the time because they are winter people. They like snow and cold environments very much. But sometimes I accompany them out of love.

  4. Can you tell the difference between the houses located in the city center and suburbs?

IELTS Speaking Cue Card Sample Topic Answer 2

I am the kind of person who loves their home more than any other place. But I also travel to many places with my friends and family. I cannot call myself a traveler because I prefer traveling once in 3 or four months. I don’t feel comfortable traveling much because I don’t feel homely at every place. I feel safe and comfortable at my home so I prefer to plan all my activities there.

I am lucky to have family and friends who respect my perspective, and who are not into forcing me each and every eerie time when they travel. But I also don’t like to say no every time they ask me about traveling outside, so I travel with them once in a while.

There is one place that I like to visit but I will never think of living there. The place is a farmhouse that my family has. The farmhouse is really beautiful and huge like a large princess palace. I frequently visit it with my family for picnics and for parties. I have also arranged many parties there with my friends.

Explain in Detail

I visit it once in a month because of one or the other reason. But I never felt like living there for more than 5 to 6 days. I don’t get a homely feeling when I am there. I always have the feeling that we are here only for a party or for some event like a wedding, and I wait for the time when we will head back to our home.

I don’t know the exact reason behind such a feeling but I assume that the reason is that it is really huge and spacious. And we are only 6 members in the house. If we shift there and start living there permanently then the bond we have within the family member will not remain the same. Due to its huge structure, rooms are in distance from each other. And I think this will create a gap between us and I am very close to my family, and I will not ever wish this to happen.

My family has many a time discussed shifting there because it is spacious, but I clearly told them how I will feel if we move there.
